Lone Star College (LSC) is expanding its Victory Center campus in North Houston with a new, state-of-the-art biology lab. To support this project, ParkUSA is supplying a LabTank® Acid Neutralization System. Designed for the safe and compliant discharge of acidic wastewater, the LabTank® captures and neutralizes lab effluent while continuously monitoring pH levels.
The project utilizes a ParkUSA LabTank® Model ANT-100-PP, which features a 100-gallon precast neutralization tank with protective interior and exterior HDPE linings. This model is engineered for below-ground applications and includes integrated leak detection monitoring. A leak sensor embedded in the tank wall connects to an alert panel equipped with both audible and visual alarms for added safety. The tank is filled with calcium carbonate rock media, which reacts with acidic wastewater to raise the pH to a safe level for discharge.
ParkUSA delivered this LabTank® as a complete, pre-packaged system, including a pre-plumbed tank, neutralizing rock media, a concrete extension to raise it to grade level, and a locking ductile iron ring cover according to project specifications. The installation process was quick and efficient, with the system being easily lowered into place using a truck crane. Once installed, it was ready to connect to the existing piping.
With its durable construction and automated monitoring features, the LabTank® ensures long-term reliability and ease of maintenance, making it an optimal solution for laboratory wastewater management.
