Cleaner Waterways with the ParkUSA Floatable Collection Screen

Removes Debris from Ponds and Basins

Floatable Collection Screens connect to sanitary sewers and remove trash and debris from stormwater runoff as it passes through the inclined screen.

Captures Debris for Safe Removal

Captured trash is retained in the detention pond while clean water is discharged into the stormwater sewer until maintenance is performed.

Minimal Head Loss

High-flow capability with minimal head loss and hydraulic gradient.

No Moving Parts

With no moving parts, maintaining the ParkUSA Floatable Collection Screen system is quick and affordable, and it can be completed using a standard vacuum truck at street level.

Details

The ParkUSA floatable collection screen is a system designed to capture floatable debris within a stormwater detention pond or basin before it is discharged into a storm sewer. Built in various slope configurations (3:1, 4:1, and 6:1) to match the detention pond’s interior berm wall, the screens feature a precast concrete headwall with a galvanized steel trash screen that can be hinged for easy lifting during maintenance and cleaning.

The floatable collection screens are structurally reinforced to withstand maintenance equipment loads up to 3,000 pounds. With no moving parts, the floatable collection screens are a reliable device for capturing and removing solid waste, debris, and other pollutants from stormwater runoff and are commonly installed in stormwater systems that receive runoff from areas such as detention ponds.

How It Works

The ParkUSA Floatable Collection Screen efficiently removes trash and debris from stormwater runoff. The screen systems are comprised of two pieces, an intake screen structure, and an attached manhole that are placed in retention or detention pond berm. Water passes through an inclined screened intake and is discharged to the stormwater sewer system while the trash is retained in the detention pond.

The Floatable Collection Screen Interceptor is designed for easy in-ground installation and includes a convenient hinged hand-hole access cover for maintenance and inspection. With no moving parts, maintaining the ParkUSA Floatable Collection Screen system is quick and affordable, and it can be completed using a standard vacuum truck at street level.

About the Floatable Collection Screen

Model FCS is a system designed to capture floatable debris within a stormwater detention pond, basin, or ditch before it is discharged. The screens feature a precast concrete headwall with a galvanized steel trash screen that can be hinged for easy lifting, and there is a clean-out opening in the grating for easy maintenance and cleaning. Screens are available in various slope configurations of 3:1, 4:1, and 6:1.

Applications

Floatable collection screens are a versatile product that can be used in a variety of detention ponds or basins to filter debris before discharge into a storm sewer.

Dry Detention Ponds

A ParkUSA floatable collection screen can be installed into a dry detention pond that is designed to hold stormwater runoff temporarily before releasing it into the surrounding environment.

Wet Detention Ponds

A wet detention pond holds water year-round and can benefit from a floatable collection screen to capture debris and prevent it from entering the surrounding waterways.

Extended Detention Ponds

Extended detention ponds are designed to hold stormwater runoff for longer periods of time, allowing it to slowly infiltrate into the surrounding soil.

Infiltration Detention Ponds

The ParkUSA floatable collection screen can help prevent debris from clogging an infiltration system on detention ponds that are designed to capture and infiltrate stormwater runoff into the surrounding soil.

Retention Ponds

A floatable collection screen can help keep aesthetic or recreational retention ponds clean and free of debris, improving their overall appearance and usability.

Dry Batch Detention Ponds

A dry batch detention pond is a type of dry detention pond that is designed to temporarily store and release stormwater in batches.
